A Necessary Initiative: My Mentorship at UX Girl Journey Program

The UX market still shows a significant gender gap in senior and leadership positions. It was precisely to change this reality that Rebeca Belin created the UX Girl Journey. It is a structured program designed to equip women with the practical tools and professional network needed to enter and advance in the UX field.

As a mentor in the program, I witnessed its transformative impact firsthand. My role focused on practical sessions where we addressed the real world challenges women face in the market:

• A Differentiating Portfolio: How to transform projects into concrete case studies that demonstrate technical skills and strategic thinking and business impact.

• Effective Career Transition: Strategies for repositioning previous experiences as competitive advantages in the UX job market.

The program's uniqueness lies in its commitment to tangible results. Participants receive specific guidance about addressing gaps in their resumes, preparing for technical interviews, and negotiating their first opportunities in the field.

Observing the participants evolution throughout the program reinforced my belief that such initiatives are essential for creating a more diverse and inclusive market. The UX Girl Journey demonstrates that with proper guidance and targeted opportunities, we can substantially accelerate gender equity in technology.
